Oscar®
Performance improvements for a Start Up.
Oscar is a Denmark-based car rental platform undergoing a phase of expansion to several countries. We worked with them by bringing efficiency with scalable solutions so they could make this move the right way.
The result of this collaboration was a strong reduction of churn, great improvement of the conversion rate and user retention. At the end, it brought a significant amount of sales to the company - supporting Oscar on its expansion strategy with a strong base of loyal and recurrent customers.
My Role
As a Design Lead, I worked daily with the Frontend and Backend teams, reported to the C level and had weekly calls with the stakeholders.
My responsibilities included understanding the requirements, maintaining consistency across the project, estimating the execution time, onboarding and assisting team members, reviewing deliverables, improving the process, and communicating with the client.
Challenge
The product data (recordings, heatmaps, stakeholder calls, etc) showed us:
- Users repeatedly scrolling down and leaving the page
- Users would spend an average of 03 months in the decision-making, before renting a car
- Most users would prefer to book a car by phone call than directly through the website.
So how to solve these points effectively?
Solution
After gathering knowledge from other departments to have a clear view of what the users looked like, and what they needed, we built a system of benefits for each of them, so we could display exactly what they were looking for.
We prioritized the users strategically, and than designed solutions for each of them.
Outcome

I worked with Marcos on two projects - car rental search and booking process optimization. Marcos is really experienced and he provided good ideas of how to solve customer problems.
